a) 3rd level eduction required, as per job description, with strong software development skills - Hons. degree in software development is ideal.
b) 4 years commercial experience required in: Oracle DB, Warehouse Builder, DB2, OLAP, Relational DB and SQL.

A database is a collection of records of data that are connected with one another in any way and had been organised in a particular order to provide access to relevant sets of data within the database.

A relational database is a type of database that allows finding relevant data sets based on the search criteria (user’s input). It also provides ease of access to types of data sets by organising the data output in a clear user friendly (readable) form. For instance it could allow Dell to sort their week’s production of “Dell Inspiron” by date produced, batch number, colour, amount of RAM etc. depending on what search properties would interest the user.

Oracle DB is a tool for managing relational databases produced by Oracle Corporation since 1977. Nowadays it is one of the main database managing programs.

Oracle Warehouse Builder produced by Oracle Corporation is a program allowing graphically illustrate database providing ease of building and managing a database environment. It is mainly used in Business Intelligence which refers to method of withdrawing, out of sets of relevant data, information helpful in understanding business’ market and potential and making sense out of them which can then be used as guidance in improvement of service.

DB2 produced by IBM is like Oracle DB a tool for managing relational databases and one of its editions is an alternative to Oracle’s Warehouse Builder being the same type of tool.

OLAP or Online Analytical Processing; is a type of a database that provides very quick access to data contained within it even for a number of related analytical queries. Just like Oracle’s Warehouse Builder it is mainly used in Business Intelligence.

SQL or Structured Query Language; is an IBM’s programming language which is used in relational database design. Even though its history reaches early 1970`s SQL is still in continuous use as one of main database languages

-can be obtained and proven by previous work experience
